Walk the River Crane to explore the river restoration projects – part of London Rivers Week

Saturday 30 October 2021
10:30 to 12:30

Craneford Way

Join FORCE for a walk visiting the existing habitat improvements on the River Crane. This will be an interesting walk & talk about the present and future opportunities for river improvement. It has been organised as part of London Rivers WeekThe photo shows the concrete lined reach of the river at Craneford Way Twickenham where a river restoration trial is due to start in the next few months.

We shall start by the fountain outside the Brewery Wharf site on London Road, opposite Twickenham Station, and walk upstream to explore the lower River Crane, hearing about the river and habitat restoration projects both planned and delivered. The walk will be led by FORCE Trustees who have been working on these sites for almost 20 years. We aim to be back at the station by 12:30pm.

As we shall be walking over varied terrain and some of the ground may be muddy, please wear appropriate attire and footwear for the terrain and weather on the day. The event is free but registration is essential so we can know how many folk to expect. Tickets will be opened for booking here on Sunday 19th September.  Due to safeguarding needs all children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

We are a very sociable group and look forward to meeting you !
