Herbal Walk along the River Crane

Join Janine Gerhardt (medical Herbalist) on a fun & informative Herbwalk and Workshop at Shot Tower and surrounding Nature Reserve. Delve into the history, traditional stories and uses of the Elder plant whilst strolling along the beautiful Crane Park Nature Reserve. Discover the medicinal and culinary uses our local flora. Have a close up look at plants (and palms if you dare!) using a botanical lens and learn why to thank mother Elder.  Know when, where and how to pick Elderflowers and return to the Shot Tower with our booty were we will prepare Elderflower cordial for those glorious summer evenings to come.

This event is part of a joint project between London Wildlife Trust and the Friends of the River Crane Environment to increase the knowledge and understanding of the River Crane and its wildlife and history. It has been funded by Richmond Civic Pride Awards.

 

Please come along with sturdy footwear, and in clothing suitable for the weather on that day.  Booking here is essential.
