Coppicing in Crane Park

Thursday 22 November 2018
10:30 to 16:00

River Crane Autumn

FORCE has been working with TCV for the last three years on a programme of coppicing and pollarding to improve the riverside habitat through Crane Park, particularly for water voles. More light can now reach the river bank and a wider variety of plants develop as a food source for the water vole. The new season of coppicing work will start this Thursday 22nd November. TCV will be meeting outside the Shot Tower at 10.30am and all volunteers are very welcome to join them.

If you only have an hour do come along, likewise if you want to spend all day with us. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear as some areas may be a little muddy. Due to safeguarding needs all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We have a lunch break about 12.30 so bring sandwiches or snack for yourself.  Thank you for helping !
