Explore Donkey Woods and Gunpowder Mills - Postponed

Saturday 28 March 2020
10:30 to 12:00

WT Shot Tower

If you are interested in local history, this walk about the Gunpowder Mills will enthrall you.  The River Crane had several such mills along it's reach.  Come along to Donkey Woods and learn about the Gunpowder Mills that were used alongside the river. This event is specifically arranged to explore the green areas close to our homes and the history that resides there. This will be a sociable walk through the river hinterland along paths.

POSTPONED -  Sadly we have had to make the decision to cancel all volunteer events and guided walks until further notice.  This follows messages on 18 March from London Boroughs of Hounslow and Richmond representatives which removed permissions for any public events in their open spaces.  This is a rapidly evolving situation and we will continue to monitor changes in advice and forward these to you through social media.  Those people who have registered for the walk already will receive an email when it is re-scheduled. Best wishes and we hope to see you at one of our events in the near future.

Please wear sturdy footwear and clothing for the weather on the day. The event is free but registration here is essential so we can know how many folk to expect.  We shall meet just beside Baber Bridge on the Staines Road, near the petrol station, and then walk through Donkey Woods.  Buses 235 and 490 stop nearby. Please come along with sturdy footwear, and in clothing suitable for the weather on that day.  Due to safeguarding needs all children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

We look forward to seeing you !
