Volunteer Sunday : Balsam Bash
Sunday 12 June 2022
10:30 to 15:30
This Volunteer Sunday is the most fun and rewarding of all volunteer days... we pull out the Himayalan Balsam along the river margins. It is an invasive species which 'drowns out' native species and damages waterbanks. You can see here the mound we pulled a few years ago.
FORCE would greatly appreciate your help in maintaining this local environment for us all as there is always plenty to do. We have a restricted number of places so booking is essential. Please only attend if you have registered and have a 'ticket', otherwise we may regretfully have to turn you away on the day.
Two sessions are being held so you can book just one or both. Booking will be open to members first, whom will recieve a notification to book. Everyone else will be able to book from here two days beforehand :
Everybody is welcome to join us. If this is your first time volunteering with us kindly fill in our welfare form in advance. Due to safeguarding needs all children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We recommend you wear tough outdoor clothes and footwear with long trousers and a long sleeved top. If you can stay all day please bring along some lunch and something to drink. Or come along for an hour or two to see what we get up to !
