Butterfly Walk beside the River Crane

Wednesday 03 August 2022
10:30 to 11:30

Come along to the River Crane for a fun morning learning about butterflies. We shall be looking for and identifing butterflies in our local area so please can you download the Big Butterfly Chart to bring along on the day.  This event has been specifically arranged to take part in the Big Butterfly Count which takes place between 15th July and 7th August. Over 107,000 citizen scientists took part in 2021, submitting 152,039 counts of butterflies and day-flying moths from across the UK. It is arranged to be a fun morning for the family

logo-lwtThis walk is arranged with London Wildlife Trust who look after the Crane Park Island Nature Reserve and FORCE. Eleanor Lawrence will be leading the walk.

Butterflies don't like wet and windy weather but if the weather is bad on the day the walk will still go ahead highlighting where they are located and interesting facts about them.  Please come along with sturdy footwear, and in clothing suitable for the weather on that day. Also bring water and suncream as we hope it will be a glorious sunny day ! Book using this link as numbers are limited.   We look forward to seeing you.

Due to safeguarding needs all children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  There is no access to the Shot Tower nor toilet facilities at the moment.
