Water voles on River Crane - a walk seeing the preparations

Friday 02 June 2023
11:00 to 12:30

Join FORCE for a walk visiting habitat improvements on the River Crane. This will be an interesting walk & talk about the present work on river improvement with preparing the banks and works being done for water voles. It goes through Little Park and Pevensey to see the works underway. It has been organised as part of London Rivers Week with Thames21.

We shall start by the Shot Tower near Crane Park Island, behind Ellerman Avenue and we shall walk upstream to explore the lower River Crane. The walk will be led by FORCE Trustees who have been working on these sites for almost 20 years. The walk is a loop walk so we return to the Shot Tower.

As we shall be walking over varied terrain and some of the ground may be muddy, please wear appropriate attire and footwear for the terrain and weather on the day. The event is free but registration is essential so we can know how many folk to expect. Registration shall open on 13th May. Due to safeguarding needs all children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  We are a very sociable group and look forward to meeting you !
